Joan Ledang is an artist, who lives in Lynaes, Denmark.
Besides painting, Joan works with installations, illustrations and interiors.
Her paintings are mixed media and have a textual quality, where elements and materials are chosen
to convey or express those stories in her mind, she wants to share.
Often, inspiration originates in a photograph, a quotation or a clipping; and from this, figures and stories emerge. This is a spontaneous and impulsive process, that may change many times, often resulting in many layers of paint in the final work. The lines are whimsical, naive and often humorous. There is, as well, a playing with words, which lends a graphic element to her paintings.
Joan has always been curious about the interaction between her works and its viewers: what stories would unfold in them while seeing hers?
